Anne Toole

Anne TooleAnne Toole is a Writers Guild award winner whose credits include video games, television series, comics, short fiction, animation, and live action. She was nominated for a Writers Guild of America Award for her writing on the videogame The Witcher (2007) and won for her work on Horizon: Zero Dawn (2018). She also received a Golden Joystick Award for her writing on Days Gone (2019).

Toole’s videogame writing credits also include Ghost of Tsushima (2020), Beyond Blue (2020), Horizon: Forbidden West (2022), Asgard’s Wrath 2 (2023), and Nancy Drew: Mystery of the Seven Keys (2024). She has written original comics based in the worlds of Horizon: Zero Dawn, Halo, and Crystal Cadets. Her animation credits include writing for the Netflix series Cannon Busters (2019) and Daniel Spellbound (2020).

A proponent of advocacy, Toole acts as Co-Chair for the Women in Games SIG of the International Games Developers Association (IGDA) and is an elected Board Member and Communications Chair for the IGDA Los Angeles Chapter. A former New Leaders Council Fellow, she also currently serves on the Women’s Advisory Board for the City of West Hollywood.
