SFAM 2026 Contacts and Crossings: Borders in Speculative Fiction will be held October 21–24 at the Courtyard by Marriott Culver City Los Angeles. Check out the details on the logistics page.
Update: Beginning with the 2026 conference, the journal Science Fiction Studies will sponsor a prize for best paper by a graduate student given at the SFAM conference. See all the details here.
There will be an exclusive, organized tour of the new Lucas Museum of Narrative Arts on the afternoon of Wednesday, October 21st for conference attendees. There will also be a chartered bus from the hotel to the museum. The tour of the Lucas Museum is free for registered conference attendees due to our longstanding collaboration with them. Having said that, those who want to go will have to register with us ahead of time (when registering for the conference). The chartered bus to the museum and back will be $30 per person ($25 for student/underemployed), and that will also be available for sign-up at the time of registration.
Also check out the SFAM merch at our brand-new store.
Speculative Fiction Across Media was established in 2023 as a 501c3 non-profit organization in California to encourage and foster communication and exchange of ideas among those working in speculative media. We encourage scholars, students, writers, producers, directors, designers, publishers, illustrators, graphic artists, and any others who study or work in speculative fiction to learn more about our association by attending our conference and joining our organization.
