Registration: Early registration for the SFAM conference is $300 per attendee, or $225 per student /underemployed attendee. Early registration ends on September 2, 2024. After that date, registration becomes $350 per attendee or $250 per student / underemployed attendee. The registration fee covers the cost of the hotel conference rooms, tech setups, food, and refreshments. Full details about the food and refreshments will be on the schedule when it is finalized. Venue: The conference will be held at the Courtyard Los Angeles Monterey Park. The conference rate will be $169 a night (plus taxes and fees) for a single, double, and triple rooms. We will soon post specific instructions for how to contact the hotel to get the conference rate, so check this space again in a couple of weeks.

Cyberpunk Exhibition: Conference attendees can attend the Cyberpunk: Envisioning Possible Futures Through Cinema exhibition at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures (6067 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles) on Thursday, October 17th from 1-4pm. This will include a conversation with the curators of the exhibition and access to other exhibitions at the museum. You can find more information about the exhibition here.
Tickets for the exhibition cost $23 for adults and $14 for students over 18 (with ID). Children under 17 get in free. These prices include a $1 charge for service fees. You must reserve your ticket in advance here.
Those who want to take the bus from the conference hotel to the Museum, it costs $30 per person. It leaves the hotel at 12pm on Thursday, October 17 and leaves the Museum to return to the hotel at 4pm. There are limited spaces available on the bus. You must reserve your space on the bus in advance here.
EagleCon 2024: This annual, student-focused event will be held on Tuesday, October 15 and Wednesday, October 16 (the two days before SFAM 2024 begins). This event is on the campus of Cal State LA (about a 10 minute uber from the conference hotel) and is free to everyone, so come out a couple of early. EagleCon is sponsored by the Art Directors Guild (Local 800) and features an exhibition of artwork from guild members along with panels and special guests from across the entertainment industry. The schedule for EagleCon always takes shape in Fall semester when classes are back in session and entertainment industry folks are clear on when they can attend, but every year it includes an impressive roster of talent.
